Anxiety is the most common illness in the United States. It is estimated that at least 18% suffer each year from anxiety-based disorders.

While many suffer from this condition, the medication that in normally prescribed is not always effective and often has side effects that are less than desirable.

How CBD Oil works for Anxiety

CBD Oil works with your body’s endocannabinoid system and directly affects a range of receptors throughout the body. Included in the list are the CB1 and CB2 receptors, and possibly more important for anxiety sufferers, the 5-HT1A serotonin receptor.

The serotonin receptor in question is known to have a very powerful effect on both anxiety and depression.

So, while scientist have not exactly pinpointed the mechanism that allows CBD to help serotonin levels in the blood normalize, early research shows that it does. As CBD helps increase the serotonin production levels that in turn helps to take the edge off of feelings of depression and anxiety.

While not a lot of human studies have been completed for CBD Oil and anxiety, the early ones show very positive results with little side effects.

Unfortunately, another thing that needs further research when talking about CBD Oil for Anxiety is the dosage you should use.

In a study published in Frontiers in Pharmacology a sample group was given different dosages before a public speaking exercise. Noticeable anti-anxiety measures were found in subjects given around 300mg, but not with either the 100 or 900 mg dose groups.

Therefor, and with all substances you’re new to taking… start small and slowly increase your dosage over time to find the optimal amount for you personally.
